如何藉由閱讀學習英文寫作技巧

加強英文寫作能力, 除了多閱讀亦有賴勤於寫作 ---- 寫作文, 讀後感想, 或摘要. 在這裡介紹一個實用且有效的方法, 幫助學生寫出好的句子結構.

英文有它獨特的性質, 寫作時常用不同句型, 長句短句交互運用, 避免用run-on sentence, 不要總是以主詞 (I, We…)起頭, 是需要記住的基本原則.

當我們閱讀英文時, 如果發現值得學習的好句子, 可以嘗試找出幾個關鍵字, 利用這些關鍵字造出自己的句子. 如果可以的話, 請有經驗的英文家教幫忙修改, 當然更好. 舉出幾個例子如下.

1. 優良句子 Running across the golf course, he was nearly hit on the head by a ball. 關鍵字: Progressive verb…….., 主詞 +被動式……….學生造句: Walking along the street, I was surprised at the scenery.


2. 優良句子 There was a band and a strongman who lifted a table loaded with people above his head.
   關鍵字: There be……..who +動詞 + with……….學生造句: There was a soldier who raised a car loaded with luggage above his shoulders.


3. 優良句子 Spectators sat under the blazing sun to watch the show, which could last all day.關鍵字: 主詞 + 動詞……, which……….學生造句: People stood under the moon to watch the movie, which could last all night.


4. 優良句子 Jesters teased the audience with riddles, jokes and songs. 關鍵字: 主詞 + tease……with……….學生造句: The lecturer teased us with a grimace.


5. 優良句子 Nearby booths featured astrologers, jugglers and acrobats. 關鍵字: 主詞 + featured…………….學生造句: The movie featured many famous stars.Feature 當動詞的解釋為 “When something such as a film or exhibition features someone or something, they are an important part of it.比較下面這個句子,意思有什麼不同. “Astrologers, jugglers and acrobats gathered around nearby booths.
